Academic Quests

iWISE is an opportunity for young minds between the ages of 10 to 24 years old, to express their views on public awareness surrounding environmental issues. iWISE encourages its participants to explore the depths of their creative imagination in order to develop a unique perspective and understanding in responding to the world around them. We encourage all our participants to become more involved in shaping our environment. 

The aim of our contest is to help students develop a keen sense of responsibility, independence and creative thinking with regards to environmental issues. We provide students with a unique platform that they can explore their potential within the STEM, TALENT and ART categories thus inspiring them to create innovative solutions.

The competition has three categories based on age and resources which are different for each competitive category.

Students born in 2012 – 2014 referred to as the Teeneagle 1

Students born in 2009 – 2011 referred to as the Teeneagle 2

Students born in 2006 – 2008 referred to as the Teeneagle 3

Each category consists of two resources, one book and one movie. All questions will come directly from one of these resources. Participants will be asked to recall key terms, understand key theories, or analyze short passages of texts from these resources.

iWISE is a global platform for young talented performers, gifted artists and extraordinary scientists to showcase their skills, creativity and scientific mind-set. This platform also aims to facilitate the exchange of scientific ideas, interests and abilities in the following categories:

  1. ART CATEGORY: Architecture, Drawing/Painting, Graffiti, Photography, Recycled Materials, Sculpture, & Sidewalk Chalk Drawing.
  2. TALENT CATEGORY: Creative Writing, Dance, Graphic Design, Marketing, Music, Public Speaking, Short Animated Film, Short Film, Spelling Bee.
  3. STEM CATEGORY: Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Social Science.

2024 Participants must select one of the 3 themes for the following categories:

  1. Creative Writing,
  2. Public Speaking,
  3. Short Animated Film and Short Film.

Theme 1

Coming of age: This theme is about growing up and becoming more responsible and independent through adventures and challenges. Just like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

Theme 2

 

Dreamscapes Explored: This theme combines imagination with reality. Show your artistic skills by creating a magical world where dreams come true!

Theme 3

Art in Motion: This theme is all about getting inspired by art that shows movement and expression. It's about making your art come to life.

Rounds:

There are two rounds for iWISE:

  1. The Virtual Finals (Preliminary Round).
  2. The Global Final (Final Round).

The Virtual Final is an online qualifying round that presents participants with a unique chance to secure a spot in the Global Final. Successful students who qualify from this round will advance to showcase their outstanding submission in the Global Final, where they will engage in exhilarating competition with talented participants from across the globe.   • Virtual Final Round: 22nd March –7th April 2024

Note: The registration fee for the Virtual Finals works per submission (per team not per participant), and it is important to note that this fee is non-refundable. Participants are encouraged to enter as a group, however single entries are also permitted for the same price. Each group can consist of a maximum of 3 participants, ensuring a fair and manageable team size.

All results will be announced live via the iWISE YouTube Channel during a virtual award ceremony. All medalists from the Virtual Finals will directly qualify for the iWISE Global Final. All gold medalists will achieve a 10% discount to register for the iWISE Global Final. A confirmation letter acknowledging their qualification will be provided exclusively to those who meet the criteria set for the Global Final. It is important to note that participants will also receive a medal and certificates of achievement specifically for the iWISE Virtual Final. All medals, certificates and qualification letters will be couriered. All Certificates and Qualification Letters will be provided via email as well. Participants will receive a certificate of Participation for submission in the Virtual Final.

The iWISE Global final is an amazing opportunity for participants to exhibit and gain recognition for their talent in London on a global platform. The Global round is final round for participants, in order to qualify for the global final participants must have received any of the medal ranking (GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE) in the iWISE Virtual Finals.

  • Participants must complete their registration and payment online via the iWISE website in order to secure their place in the Global final. All participants are required to bring a hard copy or prototype of their ARTWORK/ PROJECTS along with them to London for the Exhibition. Each ARTWORK /PROJECT will be judged twice. Participants will be disqualified if they do not have a hard copy or prototype of their ARTWORK/ PROJECT during the exhibition.
  • Participants who are younger than 16 years old may only travel to the UK under the supervision of an adult.
  • Participants who are older than 16 years old may travel on their own.
  • The registration fee for the Global round will cover accommodation, 3 meals a day, transportation, pick up and drop off at the airport and entrance fees for tourist attractions. The registration fee will not cover participants’ flight itinerary, visa expenses and spending money. The duration for Global Final is 6 days including arrival and departure days.
